2014 Bird Highlights

Thought I’d post some of the better photos and highlights from this year! Loved how this Blue Tit had made its nest in this very small tree! IMG_9278

Always a pleasure to hear and then see Cuckoo’s on the Common…. IMG_8904 Dunnock… IMG_8733 Being born in the 60’s the Kestrel will always hold a special place in my heart, mainly because I would have loved one, after seeing the film Kes. IMG_3165 Pied Wagtail running after insect road kill. photo 1 It was great to see a Spotted Flycatcher on Highgate Common, I usually travel to Belvide Reservoir to add this bird to my Year Tick list….. Image 22 Not a great photo, but it counts as an highlight this year, photographing a Tawny Owl… Image 12 And lastly it was quite special having this Hobby fly over….. image Next Time I will do my Moth highlights from this year!

    Really great photos Andy!! Even if it isn’t your best photo, I think it’s pretty obvious that the one of the Tawny Owl is my favourite!
