15.5.15.

Sunny, with a slight breeze on Highgate Common this afternoon.

Been trying to identify this spider most of the night. I noticed it had a different pattern on its back, to the more common Garden Orb Weaver. This one is called a Agalentea redii..Bush Orb Weaver. This is the first time I have noticed this species…

Saw plenty of spiders today, carrying their offspring in silk looking sacks. This one is a Wolf Spider – Alopecosa…

A nice female  Common Heath. The females are whiter, than the brown males…

Loved this Mistle Thrush singing high up in a tree…

The Green Tiger Beetles are still mating…

I think the Brown Silver-line was the second most common day flying moth last summer (the first being the Common Heath). But this is the first one this year…

Good numbers of Brown Argus. In fact its the most I’ve ever seen in one day…

Although common, this is my first ever sighting of a Common Malachite Beetle. I love how it appears to have red brake lights on the end of its wing cases…

Found another caterpillar in the Heather, that I wish I could see the adult too. This is a Heath Rustic larva…

Still trying to get better photos of this Neofaculta ericetella micro moth. But like the Larva above, the wind picked up, and spoilt any chance of a sharp photo…
