19th…

The Sawfly numbers seem to be picking up now. Saw good numbers of these Sawfly (Symphyta) on the reeds in the Island Pool…

21st…

After a very wet day the day before (20th). The 21st was quite a nice day. It also turned more wildlife up. The only moth at the Wardens Office was this Engrailed…

The Invertebrates sign posts still work. This time it turned up this Tenthredo (Eurogaster) mesomela. This is a new one for me…

Found yet another, what I think is a beautiful Micro Moth. This one is called a Lobesia reliquana. New for my moth list…

Carder Bee on the Bilberry…

Seems to be my lucky year for finding Kingfisher Blue invertebrates. But when I found out the common name of this one. I was surprised it had been named after the tail end. But as you can see when it took off, it’s got a Ruby coloured abdomen. So I guess its ok calling this a Ruby-tailed Wasp (Chrysis)…

I can’t believe its only been just over a week since I saw my first Large Red Damselfly emerge, and they have already started mating. In their usual Heart Shaped Pose….

One moth I’ve wanted to see for ages is a Scarlet Tiger. Well at least I can now say I’ve seen the Larva. Is it just me, or do the white marks look a bit like moths?…

Found 3 moths at the Wardens Office. This Small Phoenix was way up on the wall. So not the best photo. But the Small Phoenix is new to my list…
