9.7.15.

Lovely summer afternoon. Started the day off well, with only my 2nd ever Large Emerald moth. Which the ladies in the community room all came and had a look at, and really enjoyed looking at such a beautiful moth… IMG_4404 The only other moth at the Wardens Office was this Buff tip, on the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust notice board… IMG_4445IMG_4410 Spotted my 1st Marbled White this year. Its a shame it landed deep in the grass… IMG_8357 IMG_8358Getting closer to the date I saw the Black Darters last year. So I’m checking out the Dog Pond more. No Black Darter today, but I did photograph my 1st Blue-tailed Damselfly this year… IMG_8359 Also on the Dog Pond was this Banded Demoiselle… IMG_8360 This is a 1st for me. I got to see a Great Diving Beetle. Luckily a couple of people had spotted it, and were taking photos, or I may not have got to see it.  It was a monster of a Diving Beetle, and was also in the Dog Pond… IMG_4540 IMG_4575 It always pays you to look closely at the ground, you never know what you might find. In the case a Mottled Beauty… IMG_4626IMG_4617 I have a certain Staffordshire Wildlife Trust Warden (You Know Who You Are) to thank for the next photos. Turns out I had an extra Hour at HC today, I was not expecting. But must admit while sitting in my car boot, I really loved watching this really young Rabbit stand on its back legs, and eat some new shoots. I’m a bit of a softy really….
