Wednesday

The morning started off really misty and cool. But once the mist lifted it was really sunny and warm.

I was going to post this 1st photo on… can you guess what wildlife it is? But I thought it maybe to hard. But roadkill is a fate that happens to loads of wildlife around HC’s country lanes. A fate this Common Toad is now aware of…In Toad Heaven of course…

Like I said with my weather of the day, at the top of the page it was quite misty. Which was unfortunate, because when I arrived at The Mere Farm pools there was this Common Snipe. The mist made these photos fuzzy, but its still a good record. Also it took off before I could get nearer…

While at the pools the mist lifted and you could see more of the Grey Heron filled tree opposite the pools. Obviously still good fishing. There were 11 in this one tree. 3 on the ground, and another 3 in a tree a few yards away…

There were loads of young Frogs and Toads round the Dog Pool…

There are loads of young Willow Warblers/Chiffchaff on HC at the moment. Mainly in the Bracken. But I spotted this Willow Warbler on a tree branch, just above the Bracken…
