Sunday…Beautiful sunny morning, 20ºC

Forgot to mention yesterday, we had a Tawny Owl on HC early morning. Today there was a Male Cuckoo, Tree Pipits and a Kestrel.

I will be spending more time on HC over the week. Hopefully if the temperature stays around the 20ºC I will be trying the Clearwing Pheromones out.

But for today I had another brilliant walk with Gary and Brian at Belvide Reservoir. Gary actually got to see two new birds to add to his list.

The 1st of Gary’s new lifers was this Black Tern, which gave us great views through the scopes….

Highlight of the Day…was this Fantastic Male Garganey. I have seen Garganey quite a few times over the years, but I have never had such good views as I did with this stunning specimen. It was also Gary’s 2nd new bird for his life list…

This was also a 1st…1st time I have ever seen 3 grown men jump so much, when a female Mallard and her Ducklings suddenly shoot out of the grass, right under our feet. The Female flew out the grass, but landed close by on the Reservoir. The Ducklings jumped into the water, and soon caught Mum up…
