Thursday…A much better morning today. Mostly sunny, and less wind…20ºC.

It was a much better day at HC today, which always brings the wildlife out. At the Wardens Office, there was only 2 moths…This Lesser Swallow Prominent….

Other than the Gatekeepers, the Small Skippers are the most numerous butterflies. I still keep wondering whats happened to all the Common Blues and Brown Argus this year…

My best day for Odonata on HC this year so far. Starting with this Common Blue Damselfly….

Amazingly this is only my 3rd Common Darter on HC this year, and only the 2nd I’ve photographed, with a male a week ago…

We saw 3 Hawker species today… The Southern and Brown never landed for a photograph. But 2 Male Migrant Hawkers were more approachable. One had a misshaped abdomen…
