Sunday…Mainly Sunny, but feeling colder at 13ºC.

I had a day at Belvide Reservoir today. I mainly wanted to try out Back Button Focusing (BBF). I can now see the benefits of using this technique. But I must admit, I missed a fantastic chance to photograph a Kingfisher sitting in the open with full sun, and really close. I went straight for my shutter button to focus, and by the time I realised why my camera was not focusing, the Kingfisher had flew further away and right into the middle of some shady reeds. I did manage that photo though…typical….

Being very quiet, I was getting desperate to photograph anything using BBF. So when this Mallard popped it’s head up, it had to be snapped…

With a Hawfinch being reported from Belvide today, I thought I would check out the woodland feeding station. The Hawfinch never turned up, but a cheeky Blue Tit carried on feeding underneath a Great-spotted Woodpecker…
