Saturday… Sunny and 9ºC, but feeling warm for the 5th November.
Went to Highgate Common today hoping to photograph the small flock of Siskin I saw the other day. I did not even find them this morning. I thought I saw them over by the Island Pool, but it turned out to be a very large flock of Goldfinch. The Goldfinch were high and busily feeding on Silver Birch and Alder seeds….
With such a big flock I did scan through them, and luckily I noticed a couple of Redpoll. On such a quiet day, I was happy to find them. This one was sitting out in the glorious sunlight. On the bottom photo you can see some Silver Birch seeds the Redpoll has dropped….
A Cormorant flew high over…
A Robin came and had a look at me….
Anybody know where all the Winter Thrushes are?
Happy Bonfire Night!!!!
